Tittle : Annual Day - VASUNDHARA

School celebrated its Annual Day "VASUNDHARA" on 29 November 2012 in the school premises. Sh Punam Suri, President DAV College Managing Committee and President Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha Delhi consented to grace the evening as the chief guest. Eminent guests of honour were Sh. R.S. Sharma, General Secretary DAVCMC and Dr. Nisha Peshin Director PS, DAVCMC. Other guests twinkling in the evening were Mrs. Mani Suri, Mr. Ravinder Kumar, Secretary DAVCMC, Dr. S.R. Arora, Secretary DAVCMC and Chairman of our school, Mrs. Arora, Dr. V.B. Agrawal, Vice Chairman, Nanak Chandji, Manager, our former principal Mrs. Pravesh Bhikhan and principals of other DAV Schools.

In our tradition all work is undertaken only after invoking the blessings of Almighty. The colourful and splendid evening started with pious Hawan which was followed by the lighting of the auspicious lamp by our honourable guests. Auspiciousness is indicated through the invocation and without that it is neither auspicious nor fruitful. Eminent guests were given floral welcome. Students' hardwork, dedication, talents and creativity were honoured and appreciated by the guests. It was a proud moment when they released the 13th edition of the School magazine - "UDHBODH".

Further the blessings were sought by other students depicting "OM Stuti". OM which is a divine sound and gives shanti to both self and surroundings, Chanting of OM gives mental, physical and spiritual development. The same was spread all over and amidst this piousness started our ballet "VASUNDHARA". The students of our school in colourful and shimmering costumes were spreading the message of Preserving our Mother Earth.

The Ballet started with the main character Vasundhara, our Mother Earth, felt elated to see its beauty all around. She was feeling proud to see her beauty all around. Flowers in the valley, splendour in the beam, health on the gale and freshness in the stream. Then she suddenly realized that there is nobody to appreciate her beauty and wishes the nature to be transformed into human beings for her appreciation. And then came the existence of Manu and Shradha, first man and woman on earth. Then came Knowledge and Education and how man with his sharp mind made developments and progress. Students depicted it through their mesmerizing dance performances. It was followed by exhibiting great contributions of Swami Dayanand Saraswati in the field of Education. The ballet reached its glory when the contributions of eminent personalities such as Justice Mehar Chand, Prof. Ved Vyas, Anand Swamiji, Babu Darbari Lalji and Sh. G.P. Chopraji were presented

Advancement has led man on the road of progress but at the cost of our vast bountiful Mother Earth depleting and deteriorating at every level. So to bring about general awakening among the people about polluting our earth, students exhibited a sensitive Nautanki show and captivated the minds of the audience and made them glued to their seats.

The spectacular show by the students of AG DAV School was wrapped up with the Grand Finale invoking emotions among the audience by spreading the message of Vasundhara
"Make me not barren
Pierce not my womb
I pray, I plead, I implore
I am your mother
Forever ready to nurse you
Feed you and make you grow
Remember a healthy mother
Would breed healthy children
So my loss cannot be your gain."

Sh Punam Suri, Hon'ble President of DAVCMC, Delhi showered his blessings on the students and applauded the talents and brilliant performances showcased by the students. His inspirational words evoked an urge of strong determination and confidence among the students and also encouraged the children to put their best efforts in all their endeavours. School Principal Mrs. Mala Sood presented the Annual School Report tracing the progress of the institution and achievements of the students in scholastic and co-scholastic fields.

A Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized on the Annual Day Celebration in order to honour the children who all have won laudable accolades for the institution. The Prize Distribution Ceremony instilled encouragement and motivated the minds of students to achieve laurels for the institution.

The grand Annual Day Celebration concluded with the vote of Thanks conveyed by Dr. V.B Agrawal, Vice Chairman of the School.
