The alumni meet 2014 in association with DAV UNITED was held
in the school campus on 26 October 2014. The date and time of the meet was well
publicized on social media and beforehand preparations were made for the
success of the event. Individual invitations were sent telephonically. Around
150 alumni arrived to attend the meet.
The function started at 11:00 a.m. with a formal
registration of the alumni with DAV UNITED. A welcome address was given by the
school principal, Mrs. Mala Sood. Founder Principal of the school, Mrs. Pravesh
Bhikhan in her address gave the message of love, unity, fraternity and laid
stress on spiritual and value based education to the youth of nation. The
function was anchored by the alumni, Ambar Kumar, 2008 batch. The day's
programme had a lot of exciting events lined up to raise the nostalgia one
notch up. There were games and quizzes organized for everyone to take part and
win prizes as well.
This was followed by the Batch
Introductions. The alumni spoke of their life experiences. They were nostalgic
of their stay in the school as student. They were rather emotional on
reminiscing their life in the school. Alumni shared their experiences and
praised the teachers of the school for their work. Snacks and soft drinks were
served in between.
Principal Mrs. Mala Sood spoke
on the aim of this meet and said, "Good institutions are known by their alumni"
and blessed the students for their grand success. A resolution was also reached
to reserve the Sunday following Diwali festival every year for the Alumni Meet. Vote of thanks was given by Ms.
Sonia Jhingran, Alumni In charge on behalf of AGDAV family.
Alumni then had a lunch with
the staff. The function was declared ended by the Principal, with a sweet hope
of Meeting again with Alumni next year.
