and DAV College Managing Committee in association with Rotary Club, Delhi Metro
a Blood Donation Camp was organized at Arvind Gupta DAV Centenary Public School
Model Town, Delhi on 9 November 2014. The Camp was organized to commemorate the
150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj.
Camp
began at around 9 am and continued up to 4 pm with a steady stream of donors
throughout. About 127 people registered for blood donation out of which 87
candidates were able to donate blood as the donors went through a series of
medical checkups before donating blood.
One of the rooms was utilized for a
thorough medical check-up of potential donors as well as the donation itself
while there was another room where donors could lie down and recuperate for a
while before they leave venue. They were provided with refreshment including coffee,
biscuits, juice and sandwich.
Throughout
the morning there were smiles and laughter all around - a true embodiment of
what we believe in "Selfless service with a smile". A confidential blood test
report shall be provided to the donors by Rotary Blood Bank later. A Donor's
card was also provided to the Donors to facilitate them with an extraordinary
service of getting blood units (of any blood group) whenever required for their
immediate family members from the Rotary blood Bank in near future for one
year.
The
project was a success following the generous donation of blood of 87units by
the Staff, Parents, Alumni and Residents of Model Town. The donors were also tested for
their respective blood groups and were informed later of the same. The donors
were given a certificate of recognition and the mementos which comprised of a
jute bag, one milk mug, two certificate one from Rotary Club and the other from
the school and one beauty product for participating in the noble cause of blood
donation. The blood obtained by this camp will be used to save numerous lives
across the city. AG DAV family is glad to be a part of such noble cause and
would always look forward to hosting many others.
DAV believes that organizing blood
donation camps on a regular basis is very important. It believes that all
sections of society should contribute towards the society and save lives.
