India is governed in terms of the
constitution of India, which was adopted by the constitution assembly on 26th
Nov, 1949 and came into force on 26th January 1950. The school
honoured our democracy by celebrating constitution Day. On this very day Arvind
Gupta DAV Centenary Public School, Model Town, Delhi organized a Special
Assembly for the students of Primary Wing to instill a spirit of Nationalism
and Patriotism. The students were made to understand the values and philosophy
enshrined in the Preamble to the constitution. It was followed by taking a
pledge by reciting the Preamble to the constitution. Principal in her address
emphasized that Indian constitution is a living document and is capable of
adopting itself to current situation. A youth Parliament was organized to
prepare future leaders. Children also watched the video
highlighting the drafting of the constitution.A poster making competition was
organized for classes VI-X. The class teachers selected the best three entries
from each class. An
appreciation certificate was given to the winner students by the Principal.
