With a sense of
patriotism and belongingness the Interact club of AGDAV school has organized
'Swachh Bharat Week' from 19 August '17 to 25 August "17. This event
commenced with the painting competition organized under the supervision of Director Dhairya Srivastava and his
team for the mothers of the students of pre primary classes on 19 August'17. All
the participants showed their best and innovative art-pieces. This was followed by inter-class paintings
competition for classes VI-VIII on 21 Aug. 2017 and teachers on 26 August 2017.
Director Mohit Nagpal organized Essay
writing competition on 21 Aug. 2017, conducted for classes VI and VII on the
topic "Being green is staying clean"
and "Clean and green is our perfect
dream".
Director Harsh Sharma along with Director Madhu hosted the Inter- House
Debate Competition on the topic
"Mera Sheher Saaf ho, Zimmedaari
Sabki Ya Sarkar Ki". Students of class IX and X beautifully expressed
their point of view. Mrs. Sunita Sharma, School Supervisor, judged the competition.
Each orator presented his points very fairly. Himalaya house outshone and won
the 1st prize.
An inter-class speech competition
on the topic "Swachh Tan Mein hi
Swachh Mann ka Vikas Hota Hai". Director
Chirag Bhola hosted the show. Each contestant spoke well on the topic. The
student's eyes were filled with motivation listening to these speakers.
A quiz competition for the Biology students of
class XI and XII was conducted by Mrs Jyotideep
Rana .On the whole it was a day filled with a lot
of activities and learning.
Slogan Writing Competition was
organized on 24 Aug. 2017 for the students of class V. Students wrote
beautifully designed slogans to inspire the viewers.
To celebrate their contribution
in Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan students of classes III and IV enthusiastically
participated in the cleanliness drive on 25 Aug. 2017 under the supervision of Director Nakul and Tushar with immense
zeal and sense of belongingness. They got themselves engaged in dry cleaning
activities wherein they did dusting, brooming and cleaning of their classrooms
and corridors along with their class teachers.
VISIT TO SULABH INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM
A visit to Sulabh International Museum of toilet was organized
on 30 Aug. 2017 by for class V students. This visit educated students about the
historical trends in the development of toilets. It acquainted them with the
design, raw materials, and technologies adopted in the past and those in use in
the contemporary world. It stressed on importance of sanitation and hygiene.
TREE
PLANTATION
To cope up with
rising environment problems, we need to motivate people especially our youth to
keep on planting trees. The Tree Plantation program organized on 31 Aug. 2017 began
with students gathering in the ground. In the spirit of the day, they had
brought small little saplings to be planted in school ground. The gardener
helped them plant their trees. All the students were very enthusiastic and
thoroughly enjoyed the planting process, even though they all got a little wet
and muddy ? they loved it. Teachers also took part in the event and planted
trees. Tree planting event connected the students to the benefits of trees and
fostered environmental sensitivity in them. It also brought them closer to
the environment. Around 500 students participated in the
plantation drive by planting tree sapling and thus sprouted a new green drive.
This gave germination to young environmentalists and ensured that our future is
in responsible hands.

To maintain
and promote cleanliness in schools and to highlight the importance of
cleanliness and sanitation among children and teachers, students took an oath
on 1 September 2017 to continue with the good practice for hygiene and
sanitation.

the everyone around the world healthy by becoming Champion Hand washers!
September 12, 2017 marks the Swachh Water and Hand wash Day, aimed at educating
the students and community about prevention from various water borne diseases and
promoting hygiene practices. Videos related to Save Water, Segregating waste in
Green and Blue bins and Rain Water Harvesting were showcased to sensitize the
students with the need to save water, to observe hygiene and how they can
conserve and utilized rain water for their day to day needs.
