Meet 2017
Arvind Gupta DAV Centenary
Public School, Northex, Model Town Delhi-110009 organized Annual Sports and
Cultural Meet 2017 on 22nd and 23rd December 2017 in the school
premises on a grand scale with great fervor and spirit.
Chief guest Dr. N.K Uberoi, Vice President, DAV College Managing
Committee and Guest of Honour, Sh. Sriram Singh Shekhawat (Padma Shree Arjuna
Awardee for Athletics) graced the occasion with their sagacious presence
followed by a warm welcome by the Principal. Eminent dignitaries, Managing
Committee members, Principals of DAV Schools and neighboring schools, Alumni
and Parents heightened the aura of the Meet with their presence.
The grand Annual Sports and Cultural Meet commenced with the lamp
Illumination Ceremony by the chief guest and other dignitaries present there
and the singing of the DAV Gaan evoked a feeling of unity among the DAV
fraternity.
The splendid and brilliant performances with a perfect blend of
coordination and uniformity exhibited by the students in the March Past were a
sight to behold. The School Band by playing a perfect tune also mesmerized the
audience.
School principal Mrs. Mala Sood highly appreciated and motivated
youngsters for taking active participation in Sports and Games which has
developed on an extra ordinarily wide scale with the passing of time.
The Annual Sports and Cultural Meet was declared open with the
Torch Ceremony followed by the Oath taking ceremony wherein the AGDAV staff
members along with the students took a pledge for promotion of sports in the
institution and to develop the cult of sportsmanship and discipline in every
sphere.
A brief Felicitation ceremony was also organized to felicitate
students for their stupendous performances in academics and non-academic
fields. The toppers of the institution in Science and Commerce Streams were
felicitated with cash prize and certificate for their excellent performances.
Certificates were awarded to students who brought accolades and laurels in
sports activities.
School Chairman Dr. S.R Arora duly recognized the progress the
school has made in different fields and congratulated the students for their
commendable feats they have exhibited in scholastic and co-scholastics areas.
The cultural fiesta was the highlight of the event wherein
students showcased beautifully their dance skills in the form of Rajasthani
Garba.
Chief Guest of the day Dr. N.K Uberoi enlightened the audience
with his words of encouragement and motivated the students for regular
participation in sports which acts as a healthy channel for diversion of
energies.
School Manager Sh. Nanak Chand Ji in his inspirational speech
urged the students to work with persistence, determination and hard work to
achieve their goals in every sphere of their lives.
Students enthusiastically participated in races, Dumbles, Saree
Drills, Lazium, and Karate. The brilliant skills showcased by students in
various Yoga postures added glory to this Meet. The Grand Finale and Recitation
of the National anthem by the energetic and vibrant children brought the Annual
Sports and Cultural Meet to conclude.
